China: Country's first nuclear submarine opened to visitors





Visitors at Qingdaom Navy Museum, Qingdao, in the eastern province of Shandong have been able to explore the country’s first ever nuclear-powered submarine, footage from Saturday revealed. 

SOT, Wang Hao, visitor (Mandarin): "The Long March 1 submarine has always been a sign of the courage of our researchers to overcome difficulties. And then the daring to innovate. First of all, I think it's a great encouragement for our young designers."

SOT, Wang Hao, visitor (Mandarin): "It is also an encouragement for us at the same time, because we will encounter many difficulties in our lives, but they are compared with the peak of this technology it is actually nothing."

SOT, Gao GuanYu, visitor (Mandarin): "For national defence, I feel like the beginning of everything is hard, They have been working for the defence in the hard part of the day, and I feel that this spirit is worth learning." 

SOT, Gao GuanYu, visitor (Mandarin): "The opening of the Long March 1 nuclear submarine represents a history of nearly 50 years since the 1970s. It feels like we're growing in China on defence education, and the defence force has been growing."
